Recent Breakthroughs in Breast Cancer: FMD has the potential to improve quality of life in breast cancer patients
In 2024, breast cancer is expected to be the most common cancer among American women, representing 15.5% of all new cancer cases and 6.9% of all cancer deaths. It will also have the highest mortality rate among women aged 20 to 59.*
More than ever, breakthroughs and advancements are needed to combat this disease.
As we commemorate World Breast Cancer Research Day (August 18, chosen to represent the 1 in 8 women and 1 in 833 men who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime), we are reminded of the importance of ongoing research and innovation in the battle - and are excited to share insights on L-Nutra’s revolutionary news on that front. News we hope you find valuable and inspiring.
Promising Insights: Fasting Mimicking Diets and Breast Cancer
At L-Nutra, our commitment to supporting the advancement of cancer research includes the completion of promising clinical trials investigating the benefits of fasting mimicking diets (FMDs) on breast cancer treatment. This research has led to a significant milestone: A new patent issued for “The use of a fasting mimicking diet to enhance the efficacy of antiestrogens in cancer therapy.”
These studies all looked at FMDs when used in conjunction with standard of care medical treatment, and revealed that FMDs can play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for breast cancer patients. The theory is that FMDs protect healthy cells from chemotherapy stressors while making cancer cells more vulnerable. FMDs can also cause changes in nutrient availability, which can affect how cancer cells grow and survive.

Translating Scientific Discoveries Into Nutritional Solutions
By 2025, we hope to begin offering our novel FMD nutri-technology to help reduce risk factors in patients with breast cancer, among other cancers. Our dedication to supporting those with cancer also includes monthly contributions to the Create Cures Foundation, a nonprofit organization driving prevention and treatment for cancer and serious diseases through various fasting and nutrition protocols.
At the forefront of transforming these scientific discoveries into clinically relevant nutritional solutions is L-Nutra Health, the medical division of L-Nutra. Their programs are grounded in rigorous research and trials, providing innovative protocols for conditions such as obesity, prediabetes, and type 2 diabetes, and are now accessible to those seeking effective, science-backed nutritional interventions.
