What is the difference between ProLon and water-only fasts? What are the benefits of doing ProLon® instead of a water-only fast?
The main difference between ProLon and longer fasts is that ProLon provides nutrition during the fast to decrease the risks of side effects and loss of lean body mass. While some people can tolerate fasts of longer than 5 days, the 5-day ProLon program has been designed to maximize safety and tolerability. Thus, we do not recommend undergoing a prolonged fast greater than a few days without direct supervision by an experienced healthcare provider. In 2019, we conducted a safety survey of people who completed three or more rounds of... Read more...
Why should I do ProLon® instead of my own version of a fasting mimicking diet?
ProLon® is supported by over 20 years of research and development, including clinical trials. We strongly advise against DIY fasting mimicking diets, which may not include the proper macro- and/or micro-nutrients, may not effectively put your body into a fasting state, and may pose safety issues. Can I use my ProLon kit or any of the contents after the expiration date?
Similar to other foods, consuming our products after the best before date is not recommended. Expiration (or best before) dates are set to ensure consumers experience our products closest to how they were formulated and designed. Some ingredients, such as vitamins, naturally degrade over time. That is why we make efforts to deliver quality products in a timely fashion and recommend to our products be consumed shortly after being received. Read more...

The L-Bar has honey and unsweetened coconut for sweetness, but it is made primarily of nuts which provide good fats. The good nut fats also slow the absorption of the sugar, to keep the glycemic index of the bar low. Read more...

Other people like starting the program in the middle of the week and finishing on a Sunday night. There’s no right or wrong answer here. You may want to keep in mind that most people find days two and three to be more challenging than days four and five, so... Read more...
