Why do you instruct people to avoid caffeine during ProLon?
Caffeine mildly stimulates the nutrient sensing pathway called the PKA pathway (as well as some other pathways) that ProLon down-regulates. For this reason, it is best to avoid caffeine during the diet, although you may have up to 140mg of caffeine of caffeine each day, which is equivalent to approximately one 8-12 oz cup of black coffee, two cups of black or green caffeinated tea, OR 6 cups of decaffeinated coffee, all traditionally brewed. Trying to conceive?
Prolon has not been specifically evaluated for its impact on fertility or conception. While we do not have dedicated research on Prolon in relation to conception, it's important to note that improving cardiometabolic health can positively influence fertility. Prolon has been shown to support various metrics of cardiometabolic health, including weight loss, insulin sensitivity, healthy blood pressure and healthy cholesterol, among others. What is the shelf life of the products?
Kindly note that our products are best enjoyed within 3 to 5 months of receipt. We do our best to provide products with at least 3 months of shelf life. Why are enemas and colon cleanses not recommended during the program?
There have not been any documented benefits of doing a colon cleanse during a fast and, in fact, colon cleanses have been demonstrated to increase the loss of electrolytes and potentially increase the risk of dehydration, which may be unsafe, and may negatively alter the outcomes from the ProLon program. What do I do if I’m having trouble sleeping during the program (due to hunger)?

What if I get a headache? Can I take acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and/or aspirin?
Headaches can be from reduced caffeine intake during the ProLon program. To prevent this, we suggest slowly reducing your caffeine beginning a few days before you start your ProLon. Headaches can also be from the fasting state, thought to be related to ketones being used as a fuel source, and they typically diminish with repeated ProLon cycles. People can also get headaches from fasting if they are not drinking enough fluids, so if you develop a headache, please make sure you are well-hydrated. If drinking some extra fluids does not... Should routine intake of dietary supplements and prescribed medications be stopped during the ProLon dietary program?
You should not stop taking any prescription medications, and should not stop using any over the counter (OTC) medications or supplements your healthcare provider has told you to use without discussing it with them first. For this reason, if you regularly take medications or supplements, please consult with your healthcare provider before starting ProLon. Our clinical studies have not included additional ingredients such as medications, and we are still learning what affect prescribed and over-the-counter medications may have on the program. Is fasting healthy and safe? What complaints are associated with fasting?
For most people, yes. And prolonged fasting contributes to transformative, sustained health benefits.
