What if I get a headache? Can I take acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and/or aspirin?
Headaches can be from reduced caffeine intake during the ProLon program. To prevent this, we suggest slowly reducing your caffeine beginning a few days before you start your ProLon.
Headaches can also be from the fasting state, thought to be related to ketones being used as a fuel source, and they typically diminish with repeated ProLon cycles. People can also get headaches from fasting if they are not drinking enough fluids, so if you develop a headache, please make sure you are well-hydrated. If drinking some extra fluids does not alleviate your headache, you may use over the counter pain medications like acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin, according to product instructions, as long as the labels do not instruct against use during fasting or very low-calorie diets.
