Daily Tips — Day 3: The Magic of Autophagy

You’re more than half-way there- congratulations!

Today may feel more challenging as you experience symptoms associated with ketosis, but remember that every challenge brings the possibility of great victory, and on Day 3, that victory is autophagy!

Autophagy is the biological process that’s typically activated after three days of a prolonged fast. As your body's natural process of recycling damaged cells, it’s like a deep, internal spring cleaning to promote cellular rejuvenation. This remarkable self-cleaning system will continue working throughout the rest of your fast, and even into Day 7, two days after your fast is completed.

Tips For A Successful Day 3:

  • Take Advantage Of Useful Distractions. Engage in tasks and activities you enjoy, which can help keep you motivated, and reduce the focus on food or being hungry.
  • Spread Out Your Prolon 5-Day Meals. Some people prefer to space out their fasting allowance meals throughout the day, which mimics a regular eating routine, and can make the fasting experience feel easier.
  • Eat Mindfully. When eating your Prolon meals, savor each bite. Go slow, and eat without distractions. By focusing on the flavors, textures, and nourishment your body is receiving, you’re more likely to think about the positive benefits of your experience, rather than any discomfort.
  • Keep Moving- But Gently. Continue your gentle stretching, yoga, and walking to help boost energy, and keep your mind and muscles engaged.
  • Prep for Post-Fast: Stock up on Fasting Bars, Fasting Shake, and everyday longevity products to help transition out of your fast.
  • Practice Self Care. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself. You're doing a challenging thing, so find moments to treat yourself. Meditation, a warm bath, reading a book, listening to music, and indulging in extra rest are all wonderful tools to use during this time.
