Daily Tips — Day 2: Ketosis Is Underway

You’ve now entered ketosis! As of today, your body has likely used up its glucose stores and is beginning to rely entirely on its internal fat stores to produce ketones, a process known as ketosis.

While ketosis eventually boosts post-fast mental clarity, memory, and focus, the initial transition may bring on symptoms such as brain fog, headaches, fatigue, body aches, or even nausea. If your body is used to its daily dose of caffeine, you may feel the effects of caffeine withdrawal at this point. Gastrointestinal discomfort, especially constipation, is also normal due to the high fiber content of the Prolon program, but take heart - these are all just temporary signs that your body is adjusting to ketosis.

You can expect your day 2 calorie intake to be lower than Day 1, and it will remain at this level for the rest of your fast. Today also marks the introduction of our L-Drink, a beverage designed to provide energy, while also protecting lean muscle mass. The L-Drink contains glycerol, a plant-based compound that promotes hydration without breaking your fast, so be sure to follow the label instructions, and adjust your intake based on your body weight. For added flavor, consider mixing in some of your hibiscus tea to sip on throughout the day!

Tips for a Successful Day 2:

  • Start Prep For Post-Fast: Now would be a good time to get a headstart on ensuring you have any post-fast longevity products, or ingredients, for Day 6 and 7 meals close at hand. When the time comes to start eating regularly again, we recommend our L-Protein, for example, as an easy post-fast option, and a convenient way to get the protein you need while also supporting healthy aging.
  • Managing Symptoms: If you're still feeling fatigued or achey, consider taking a nap, drinking more water, or indulging in an Epsom salt bath to relax. In the rare case of severe symptoms (intense dizziness or fainting, vomiting, confusion, severe headaches, or trouble breathing), break your fast by consuming something sugary, and consult your primary care physician if necessary. In case of emergencies, call 911.
  • Prep for Post-Fast: Stock up on Fasting Bars, Fasting Shake, and everyday longevity products to help transition out of your fast.
  • Keep Up The Good Work: Remember that hundreds of thousands other participants have experienced meaningful health benefits after completing the Prolon program, and you can too! Keep going – you’re on the right track to healthier living.

What is Prolon?

Prolon’s 5-Day Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) offers the benefits of fasting while still allowing you to eat. Backed by over 25 years of research, 32 clinical trials, and $48 million+ in research grants, including from National Institutes of Health (NIH), this program is designed to mimic the effects of fasting without requiring you to abstain from food completely. Each day of the Prolon fast is carefully formulated to activate your body's natural cell-rejuvenating processes which support longevity, healthy aging, and more vibrant living. The five days also build upon one another to trigger the various stages of fasting that contribute to cellular rejuvenation, so each day has its own unique and important role in that process.

Here are some of the key benefits you may experience as a result of Prolon 5-Day:

  • Reversal of biological age score*
  • Fat-targeted weight loss while protecting lean muscle
  • Metabolic health support
  • Improved skin appearance
  • Boosted motivation to adopt other healthy lifestyle changes

*after three consecutive FMD cycles

We hope these tips help ensure you get the most out of each day of your Prolon 5-Day experience!
