FAQs

What if I forget to eat something in the box or miss taking a supplement?
The ProLon® diet has been carefully curated and scientifically tested to be consumed as packaged. Therefore, we recommend eating all foods in each day's box. If there is any leftover food, or you forget to take a supplement, do not use it on a different day in the cycle, as this may impact the outcome of the diet. Read more...
What if I get really hungry as I'm doing ProLon®?
Keep in mind that there’s a difference between cravings and hunger. Cravings are normal while doing ProLon, and generally pass within a short period of time. To address cravings, keep yourself distracted, and drink sparkling water (unflavored, unsweetened) and/or non-caffeinated, herbal teas. Like cravings, hunger also generally passes quickly, and we strongly recommend against eating "extra" food, which could take your body out of the fasting state. If your hunger is intolerable, as a last resort before breaking your fast, you may have a slice or two of apple, OR... Read more...
Can I eat the day’s food at different times?
According to the trial design, the order and timing in which you eat each day’s items does not impact the outcome. You can consume the entire day’s contents in a single sitting, though we do not recommend doing so as you’ll have many hours of no nutritional intake and you may get very hungry or may experience increased side effects from fasting, like headache and fatigue. Can I drink electrolyte beverages while on ProLon®?
If you really feel the need, you can have a zero-calorie electrolyte beverage as long as it doesn't contain: additional additives like preservatives and colors; nutrients like carbs, fats, or protein; or any additional natural or artificial flavors. Read more...
Can I replace the L-Bar with a Fast Bar or other types of nuts?
Due to the carefully studied, carefully formulated macro- and micro-nutrient ratio in the L-Bar, there is no substitute which meets its exact profile. Although Fast Bar is very similar to ProLon’ s Nut L-Bars, there is a slight difference in size, calorie count and sugar content Any substitute will likely differ from the ratio and amount of specific macro- and/or micro- nutrients and may interfere with the benefits of the diet. If you elect to simply omit the L- Bar, please note that changes in the food included in the program,... Read more...
What if I eat a meal inside the next day box in the middle of the night during the program?
Technically, since you ate it on the respective day for that item, it is within the study's limitations as we did define the timing of the meals as a factor to realize program benefits. Although we don't have any studies to show that eating a meal item in the middle of the night decreases the effectiveness of the program, it could mean you are hungrier during the day when you don’t have anything left to eat in that day’s box. Thus, it’s best to try to stick to eating only... Read more...
Can the diet be stopped at Day 4?

What if food outside of the ProLon kit was eaten during one day of the diet, such as at a social event?
The ProLon kit was carefully designed to be the sole source of food intake during the 5-day fast, and the clinical studies proving its benefits were completed without the addition of any extra food. We strongly encourage you to stick to eating just what is in the box for each day, and we recommend you do not consume anything additional, as eating additional food will impact the effectiveness of ProLon. However, if you do end up eating something extra, don't quit! Just go back to the program, and call the... Read more...
Adding/Additions to the program:
During your ProLon 5-days, we strongly recommend that you “stick to the box” to achieve the same cellular benefits that were demonstrated during our clinical trials. The rigorous testing of ProLon was demonstrated by following our kits as is, and therefore, it is always better to stick to what’s in the box.  Here are some tips to help your palate tolerate the items a little easier: Soup and olives may be blended/pureed together Crackers (all or just few of them) may be crumbled into soups L-Bar may be refrigerated and consumed cold L-Bar...
